"Today in the temple we were able to watch a bride go through. they were so cute!
This week, we lost 2 of our elders to Peru. Elders McLellan and Lane left us early on wednesday morning and flew all day to Lima. Hopefully things are going well for them. Our disctrict is getting smaller and smaller. Hopefully this will draw us closer together. I felt that at times we relied to much on McLain to make us laugh that we didn't really develope a deep realtionship with each other.
So, in respons to that, we all took and eveing of class time and created goal for us a s a district. We covenanted to become better studiers and to write down the insipiration that we recieve in order to be more open to the spirit. Hopefully this will build trust between us as we see each other study and know that we can rely on each other to help us in our times of need. We have an elder in our district that all of us are concerned about. He sleeeps alot and wanders the hallways when his companion is being diligent. So hopefully all of us will work together to help bring our district up.
We have started our time of no english outside our dorms. Hermano Dela Cruz now doesn't 'understand' english and so we are forced to find words that we all know, but have problems remembering. This is pretty good. I enjoy speaking spanish, but i hate not remembering the little words. So this will be a good growing experience. I like speaking it to people that are able to understand my spanglish.
We got a new district this week. But alas, they will all leave in 3 weeks to go to lima as well. And then we won't be getting anyone for the next couple of weeks. Sad day!
Our roommate hermanas are leaving us this week. Hermana Pond leaves tommorow for argentina and the Gibbson and Keller in 5 more days for Kentucky. It will be sad to see them go, but I'm not going to lie, i am going to enjoy having a quiet room. they are kinda loud....some people don't leave the college life behind...
This week I have the wonderful opportunitiy of listening the Susan W. Tanner for relief society. She talked about the history and importance of relief society. She said that the power of the relief society has yet to be fully used and understood, and wont until the priesthood and relief society truley understand the use and importance of it. Interesting, eh?
So funny story. Hermana Mckenna. Love her to death. we as a companionship end up going to the bathroom quite a bit. Because she is so tall, she activates the air freshener inthe bathroom. so far (we arekeeping count) she has done that twice while standing directly infront of it. Therfore, her hair occasionally smells like bathroom air freshener. Yester day at dinner, she wanted to be a fat kid (what we call it when we want to go and eat something we know we really shouldnt) and eat and ice cream bar. so she takes off the wrapper and puts it in her mouth and her lips freeze to the ice cream bar. We all were laughing for minutes as she tried to get her lips unstuck. eventually she pulled them off but lost some skin. I guess it was a had to have been there moment but it was still quite funny if you imagine it...
oh, we are no longer allowed temple walks on sunday, due to the fact that some of the missionaries have been meeting firenda and family for picnics. i'll let you know if that is reinstituted.
we have gotten pretty good at contacting. We are doing it mostly in spanish and are gradually adding words that we learn.
